Violence is a learned behavior.  It can be unlearned.

Imagine a day without any violence.  Every day should be Turn Off the Violence Day, but until then the second Thursday of every October is the day we will focus our efforts to raise awareness.  We call on our colleagues across the country to schedule their TOV events on this day.  By joining voices and working together, our work will be more effective.

What's it all about?

This website is the "seed" of the Turn Off the Violence campaign.  It is the results of collaboration among many organizations across the country.

It is our gift to you in the hopes that you will "plant the seed" in your own home, in your own workplace, and in your own community and you will nurture it so that it grows.

Some day together we may reap the harvest in a world that thinks of violence only as the last resort, not the only option, ... or the best.
